He didn't/couldn't/wasn't able to see/realize/understand the danger/risk/peril he was in. As he reached/got to/climbed up to the top, the branch/limb/twig broke/snapped/fell. Sam plummeted/fell/crashed to the ground with a loud/sharp/painful thud/sound/crash.

  • Fortunately/By chance, Sam wasn't/didn't get/sustained any serious/major/critical injuries.
  • But, he learned a valuable lesson/teaching/truth: always listen/heed/pay attention to guidance/advice/warnings from trusted/reliable/responsible people.

From/After/That day on, Sam became much more cautious/careful/thoughtful. He understood/realized/learned the importance/value/significance of being safe/secure/protected.

Sam's New Friend

Sam was having a little down. He hoped to have a new pal to play with. One day, while he was playing in the woods, he noticed something interesting. It was a little creature with bright feathers. Sam quietly approached the creature and asked, "Hello! What's your identity?" The creature grinned and replied Sam, "I'm Lily!" And so, Sam made a new friend. They spent the rest of the day playing together.
